Assignments

Since our establishment in November 2005, we have undertaken a number of major contracts. We are thankful to our loyal client, Fahamu, for providing us with founding assignments, which have enabled Indiba-Africa to progressively expand it's client base. Our recent assignments include:


*Training of the Rwandan Defence Force on the Fahamu course, 'An introduction to human rights'

*Monitoring of human rights training for the Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation

*Coordination of workshop for Fahamu on training on financial management, for 20 women from the Rural Women's Movement

*Hosting a delegation from Rwanda, on behalf of Fahamu, on the provision of legal aid and strengthening civil society

*Implementation of Fahamu's project on training the Malawian Network of Human Rights Monitors on 'An introduction to human rights' and 'Investigating, monitoring and reporting on human rights violations'. Indiba-Africa has provided key tutoring, with the Centre for Human Rights and Rehabilitation (CHRR) providing local tutoring support

*Implementation of Fahamu's UmNyango Project (using SMS technology to report human rights violations in rural areas)

*Developing project proposals with Fahamu, RWM and the Community Law and Rural Development Centre

*Implementation of Fahamu's GENARDIS Project (using SMS technology for rural women to access agricultural extension information)

*Designing a human rights course for the Durban University of Technology, Architecture Department (contract finalisation pending)

*Tutoring and facilitation of course and workshop on behalf of Fahamu for the International Rescue Committee on human rights monitoring

*Assessment of the outreach work of the South African Human Rights Commission

*Continuing tutoring on the Fahamu courses: 'An introduction on human rights' and 'Investigating, monitoring and reporting on human rights violations'
